Why this must be read:

Second season ended with Jeremy waking in the middle of the night and finding himself accompanied by two ghosts -- Anna & Vikki. Since we were left with that tantalizing cliffhanger, some fic was needed to fill the void. This one is easily my favorite. It doesn't attempt to explain the how or the why of their return; it just shows the impact they have on Jeremy. It's a bit of a darker take -- Jeremy, who carries death in his wake, is now literally haunted by the ghosts of the women he loved, the ghosts he can never escape. Beautiful writing and wonderful insight into Jeremy's mindset.

An Excerpt: Jeremy doesn’t tell anyone (there’s no one to listen when Elena takes off with Damon and Alaric was just rebuilding a life for them, and Bonnie wouldn’t listen, mouth firm and set, so sure of her ancestor’s allegiance) and he doesn’t go anywhere because they’ll follow, tugging him back where it’s just the three of them. He thinks, for the first time (past vampires, werewolves and witches), that he might be going crazy.
