Why this must be read:
This gives a really nice look at all the complicated social aspects of Glee that were mentioned in the first overview. Members of Glee may be a family, but they also have an image to maintain to remain in their specific social circles, and this fic does a great job of showing that. It also does a great job of capturing the atmosphere of high school. It also does an amazing job of going beyond all that. Even though things have started to really look up for Kurt since season two, this is a great take on how the writers could have done it.
"Because if this is — I don't know, some kind of date," Burt says, "I want to talk to him."
Kurt has a vivid and terrible mental image of how that would go. "Oh, sure," he lies.
"And by talk to him," Burt elaborates, "I mean hit him with this tire iron."
