Velykden by Glenna Meredith (G, author did not rate)

Fandom: THE MAN FROM UNCLE
Pairing: no pairing - Illya-centric
Length: 4K
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] glennagirl
Author Website: Her page at MFU Archive, she posts on her personal journal and I think fanfiction.net as well.
Why this must be read:

I openly admit that I don't read a lot of gen stories. I make exceptions for Glenna, though, because her writing touches a place deep in the core of me. She has a beautiful way of expressing emotions in words, and when she writes about Illya, I want to know so much more about him. She turns an already irresistible character into a fever dream, an obsession that you don't want to shake.

The author describes this gorgeous story this way: A young Russian agent is reminded of his family and a faith not his own. However, Velykden is so much more than that. It shows Illya's humanity, his character, deep down into his very soul. The original character who is also in the story is nicely written, and you want to learn more about him as well.

I've read this several times over the past few months and I'm so pleased to be able to share it with you today. I think you'll like it. :)
