I am not a huge fan of very alternative au stories but there's always an exception to the rule and this is mine. Hand to god, I sobbed through every word of this WW II AU that is one of the most exceptional stories I've had the pleasure to read in any fandom. I recommend this to everyone without reservation because the writing is evocative perfection.
