December is Small Fandom Month on crack_van!

Sign up below if you want to make recs. First priority will go to fandoms that have never been featured here, followed by fandoms that have been featured a few times, followed by fandoms that were previously full-time but are now retired.

Note #1: a fandom doesn't actually have to be small to be recced -- there are still lots of big fandoms that have never been featured on the community!

Note #2: If you are signing up a fandom that has never been recced here, a fandom overview will be required. Overviews should include pics and biographies of main characters, story arcs, and links to fandom archives and communities, at minimum. Permanent picture hosting is available on my webspace - just ask.

Yes, and sometimes people will start their recs early in the month & post the overview whenever it's ready. Whatever works!

Yeah, there's a fair amount of action in the RP community, but I haven't really gotten into the fanfic end of things.

I could do musical theater! Dunno if that could count as one fandom, but I guess Marvel and various RPF settings do, so maybe. Plus, other than maybe Rent and Wicked, there's not nearly enough individual fic bases to rec solely from (and I love Rent and Wicked, but there's a lot of crap out there).

Thank you! I noticed there don't appear to be tags or a fandom overview for musical theater. Not sure how to handle the latter (I assumed we can just have a catch-all "musical theater" tag?) as it doesn't seem to make sense to summarize a fandom that's really countless smaller unrelated fandoms. I can do a post summarizing the shows I'll be reccing from, or nothing. Thoughts?

I'll add tags as you post recs, but I would suggest using both an overall "musical theater" tag, and then specific tags for the shows that you're reccing. As for the overview, that's entirely up to you. You could either do smaller overviews for each show or a bigger one with several included. Pretty much, you're the expert on this fandom and I'll follow your lead. :)

Just to clarify, in regards to #2, the monthly featured fandoms still don't have to post a fandom overview, but the December Small Fandoms reccers do.

"If you are reccing a Monthly Featured Fandom, does your fandom already have a fandom overview completed? If not, you are encouraged but not required to provide one."

Yes, we would like for the first reccer of any fandom to post an overview, but we only require that they do one time a year, during Small Fandom Month.
