Why this must be read:
Okay, I admit it. I saved this story for last because it's holiday fic. Written for Yuletide 2010, this is one of the more widely-read stories in the fandom (but, but, but...I read it first! Look! I'm comment number six!), and deservedly so. Its sophisticated structure, inspired by Wallace Stevens' poem, contains a heart-breaking portrait of Olivia Dunham following her return from the Other Side. It does what I like best in fanfiction: it slots perfectly into canon, while illuminating and enriching it. If you haven't yet read this fic, you're in for a treat.

So here we are. I can't believe it's already November 30th. I had over forty stories to rec here and didn't even get to half of them, which means I'll have to sign up to do this again!
