The Candle and the Star by Deborah Judge (PG)

Hello, I'm Sab, here to pimp my ride for the month of June and bring the Babylon 5 fannish love to all who are hungry. Expect slash and het and gen and lots of aliens, and I will do my damndest to represent the best of this fandom in our short precious little month. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] shaggirl for handing me the keys to the van.

And soooo...

Fandom: BABYLON 5
Pairing: Lennier, beginning of a series that will include Lennier/Delenn. (John/Delenn implied)
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] deborah_judge
Author Website: Deborah's Stories
Why this must be read: Deborah is the internet's consummate Delenn/Lennier 'shipper, and this story is a terrific introduction to her post-series series of Lennier stories. Heavy spoilers for "Objects in Motion"/"Objects at Rest" and "Sleeping in Light," of course, and the stories won't resonate as well if you haven't seen the end of the series.

In "The Candle and the Star," we meet Lennier post-"Objects at Rest," gone off to find himself and prove himself worthy of Delenn's love. All around him, the galaxy is in turmoil, as the Drahk continue to exercise control over Centauri Prime. Deborah does a marvelous job capturing Lennier's desperation and the depth of his love for Delenn, and she's got a whiz-bang of a POV device framing the story. Mr. Morden came to see Lennier in "Day of the Dead," but Lennier never got to answer Morden's favorite question: "what do you want?" So here, Deborah lets him.
