Now Does Our World Descend by Anarchistanthem (R)

Hi, I'm [livejournal.com profile] lucifuge_5 and I'm the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van driver for Bandom this month (woot!). I'm an MCR girl through and through so my recs will center around that particular band. With a mix of new and old fics that follow a weekly "theme", I hope there's a story or two y'all will like. :D!

Fandom: BANDOM (MCR)

Pairing: Frank Iero/Gerard Way

Length: 10,000 words

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] anarchistanthem

Why this must be read: This week's theme is "break-ups and make-ups".

Sometime after My Chem goes on (semi-permanent) hiatus, Gerard moves to a small town, hoping to find some kind of peace. He's got a nice house, a dog and all the time in the world to be an artist. Life should be ideal. Except that he's also trying to move past the heartache of breaking up with Frank.

Things get deliciously complicated when said ex-boyfriend reappears in Gerard's life.

For all the sadness of the premise, this is actually a very quirky and sweet story (part of the magic of Bandom, I guess. *g*). It's a fic that's got: kicky banter and pining between ex-boyfriends who still love each other, Mikeyway being an awesome little brother, Ray's calming presence and a few hurt/comfort scenes courtesy of Frank's fail-y immune system.

An Excerpt:

"You broke Frank."

"I heard you the first fucking time. What ever happened to being polite on the phone?"

"Good morning Gerard, how are you, how is Dexter, did you sleep well, how was your morning croissant," Mikey rattled off in a monotonous voice. "Gee, you broke Frank and we need you to fix him."

"What?" Gerard said. "Why me?"

"Because you broke him?" Mikey said. "Jesus, Gee. I'm being serious here. He's not doing well. All he does is… sit and drink and smoke and lose weight. Everyone's worried."
