This epic duology is one of the measuring sticks for the quality of writing in this fandom in my humble opinion. With every character being well-rounded, world building that brings every scene and description to life, and an emotional depth that leaves residue on your very soul, these two stories kept me enthralled long after reading. Dreamdustmama brought Arthur, Merlin, Morgana, Morgeuse, and every other character so to life that I was literally living the events that were described. The world was so vivid that every grim detail of this world where magic users are persecuted and headed for eventual annihilation kept me on the edge of the seat, even when there was a smidge of light at the end. All the emotions were crisp enough that I felt my heart twitch at every betrayal and declaration of love. These two fics will leave you with an indelible mark on your heart and your mind just wanting more, more, more.
