I'm making an exception to my new-fics-by-primarily-new-authors mission today for one of my favorite fics.blackmare_9 is probably best known for Down to the Water, one of the most beloved House & Wilson friendship fics ever. This story is much shorter but also treats the relationship between these two men in the aftermath of crisis with great understanding and compassion. Set during House's stay at Mayfield, it uses the lyrical, luminous language of dreams to explore House's complicated feelings about Wilson, Amber, and his father. And the title is absolutely perfect.
