Why this must be read: Well, for starters, it's such a refreshingly original piece. It throws together Tyler and Katherine, two characters who have never really interracted in the show and give such a brutal telling of how they would crash into each other. It pulls absolutely no punches (and please do note the warnings listed at the top of the fic). Katherine is a monster in this, cruel and terrifying and gleeful. And Tyler is... Tyler. He's territorial and determined and fucked up beyond repair. The whole thing is glorious and truly worth the read. (You may have to stretch your mind back a ways since it's set in the beginning of second season, but it just settles into the story so well.)

Tyler can’t help it, he goes over there and interrupts, leaving his post and probably ruining their plan, but he can’t really bring himself to care. He curls his fingers through Jeremy’s, pressing their palms together as he stakes his claim and challenges her to make a move.

Katherine just looks amused, biting her lip and twirling her hair, dark eyes dancing behind her mask. “Down boy,” she says, patting his cheek and ghosting a hand down his arm. “Now’s not the time to get territorial.”
