The Larry Drabbles by T. Verano (R)

Wow, did this month fly by! Time for my last recommendation.

Fandom: THE SENTINEL
Pairing: Jim/Blair
Length: short
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] t_verano
Author Website: Gen fic at her Pleasance site and Slash fic at her LJ site

Why this must be read: Although I normally wax poetic about the story, I really want to touch on the genesis of this fic first. Just a year ago, we lost a most supportive fan and lovely lady: Bee, aka [livejournal.com profile] slipperieslope. She always had encouraging words and enthusiasm for everyone. She passed quite suddenly; coincidentally during the month she was the TS recommender here.

Bee also was a great supporter of the Moonridge Zoo charity auction. This set of drabbles was written to fulfill Bee’s bid, because she loved Larry the Barbary ape (from the episode The Debt). T, as always, did a masterful job. From her comments, Bee obviously loved them; I do too.

Summary: Jim is upset because Blair is thinking of Larry when he should be thinking of Jim. Does that sound selfish? Well, in this case, I think Jim may have a point.

The Larry Drabbles

And because drabbles are, by definition, very short, I’m giving you a bonus drabble, written for another Moonridge for Bee. A bit more poignant and just as good. Enjoy, and see you next time around.

Mornings After

Feedback makes the world go ‘round. Giving some will make you and the author feel great!

The Larry Drabbles are hysterically funny. I podficced them and Mornings After (a truly haunting little glimpse into Jim's mind). The Larry Drabbles at the Audio Fic Archive (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/larry-drabbles). Mornings After Mp3 at the Audio Fic Archive (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/mornings-after)

Mornings After is also included in a Podbook (Mb4 format) in an anthology of T Verano's shorter stories and drabbles. Sixteen Drabbles and Ficlets by T. Verano (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/16-sentinel-drabbles-and-ficlets-audiobook-anthology).

Bee was a wonderful person; she's truly missed.

Thanks again for the rec -- and the bonus rec :-) -- you're really too kind!

And thank you for this remembrance of Bee. She was the loveliest of people, all the way through. Writing these drabbles for her was an act of joy. *She* was joy; I've never known anyone as filled with enthusiasm and just sheer, embracing, generous joy as she was.

*misses Bee*
