Monster by Obi The Kid (K)

Length:15172 words
Author on LJ: There doesn't seem to be one.
Author Website: FFN Profile
Why this story must be read:
Lighthearted stories are a sweetener for the palate, which can be made thick and nonresponsive by endless Sturm und Drang. Here is a plotty little story from the author of a massive 214 stories, many in the Phantom Menace category. With a mission that turns awful right away, Qui and Obi endure a blurred mandate from a fuzzy-minded Chief who can't remember why he summoned help, as well as the titular Monster to which there is less than meets the eye. Add to the mix a perpetually disgruntled populace who take xenophobia to a new level, and you have a short story that Qui and Obi wish were shorter. As a tidbit, the final sentence may make the reader think; that's not as painful as it sounds.
