Why this must be read: Any list of hipster recs would not be complete without the angel haired hipster James France. In this, he is an enigma to Aaron Tveit. Set during the filming of Howl, [livejournal.com profile] margottenenbaum in many ways, compares Franco to the poem itself. Both are somewhat incomprehensible to Tveit. He has moments of brief understanding, but only moments and after they are over he finds himself, more or less, back where he began.

They have a lot of down time during which Aaron usually learns Tripp's lines. Aaron used to think he was busy, but he's beginning to see that James puts him to shame. James is always going from set to school and back, always has a bag full of books, and is often reading or writing between takes.

"When do you sleep?" Aaron blurts one day, watching James down coffee, smoke, and flick between his reading and his script.

"Sleeping's overrated," James grins. "It's the eating I really miss."
