Why this must be read: I'm a sucker for AUs, particularly ones that put Jim and Blair in space. This story has a vaguely Star Trek feel, but you can really see the planet Blair gets stranded on. The connection between Jim and Blair builds at just the right pace, and the artwork frombriarwood is haunting and atmospheric, much like the story itself. If you like alternate meeting/sci-fi AUs, this one is well worth your time.
