If you like your angst uncut, read the first story. Eames already has a true love in the form of his twice-married, twice-divorced-from wife when he and Arthur start up. So it is only a matter of time before he leaves. But for Arthur, the heart wants what the heart wants. The heartache of the Box of Shame at the end of the story is just brutal and very, very Arthur.
If you are like me and need your angst to have a happy(ish) ending, continue on to the sequel. In which the Box of Shame redeems itself.
