Why this must be read: Technically this is a WIP (stop mod, don't ban me!), but the writer stopped it a year ago in a place that is a conclusion of sort.
Eduardo and Mark playing matchmaker for Dustin and Chris. It's funny, but it has some of great, great insight about love and friendship.
But Dustin looks back down and turns his head between Mark and Eduardo. “I don’t want us to be like you.”
“Dustin.”
“I like being able to talk to my best friend. I like being able to call him just because and not have to come up with a fucking excuse like some demented matchmaker scheme. I like knowing that the absolute worst thing I’ve ever done to him is nothing compared to the shit you two have done to each other.”
Chris steps forward, hand running mindlessly up and down Dustin’s arm.
Dustin coughs. “I like knowing that he’s beside me now even though he has no damn idea what I’m getting worked up about. But mostly I like the way that I still have a best friend. Nothing’s worth screwing that up. And maybe that makes me a coward but at least I know what I’ve got. Which makes me smarter than either of you.”
