Phoenix Fire by Chris (NC-17)
Fandom: HIGHLANDER: THE SERIES
Pairing: Duncan/Methos
Author on LJ: None
Author Website: Taterville
Why this must be read:
One of the new 'classics' of the fandom. If you have not read this epic then you have seriously missed out.
Chris writes Duncan and Methos as real human males with immortal attributes. The closely woven plotline snares you very early on and a delightfully well written selection of OC's will soon make you love them.
The story is set post Endgame in Normandy, France. Infact, Chris manages to evoke the French lifestyle so well you can almost taste the garlic. This fic reminds you that the TV series was frequently based in Europe and it is a pleasure to see Methos and Duncan not written as Americans for once.
Oh and there is rugby and an art deco house (which I wish to live in) and some of the sharpest, wittiest, most gloriously real dialogue you will ever read.
Treat yourself. If you read nothing else. Read this.
