The Long Road Home by Debbie Stone (NC-17)

Why this must be read: For ethics and realism.
Summary Blair returns from a trip to NYC and witnesses a plane crash.
We kick off discovering why Blair’s heading home (alone) after an overnight flight from NYC and roll smoothly into a dramatic, action packed tale about heroism, human nature (both its strengths and flaws) and how one major event can make someone reevaluate what’s important in their lives. Debbie taps into humanity at a base level and shows us how pre-determined perceptions can be changed when people see the ‘true’ nature of a person shine through; when they’re no longer influenced by what they see in the media. It’s that realism and how it plays out that really draws me into this story. This is a great mix of action, drama, angst, courage and ultimately, respect.
