The Sweet Spot (NC17) by sinemoras09

Everyone knows the PWP, whether it be as Plot? What plot? Or Porn Without Plot, or even, for those whose characters get carried away, Porn With Plot. I'd like to introduce a new category, Porn With Personality. This is porn which, although it doesn't have plot, does manage to encapsulate the character of the players. Good porn should, in my opinion, always do this, otherwise it might as well be Tab A and Slot B and really that's not so much fun to read. Anyway, my second rec definitely falls into the Porn With Personality category. It's porn and it has acres of personality. Not that it could help it, given the people involved.

Fandom: Naruto
Pairing: Namikaze Minato/Uzumaki Kushina
Genre: Het, humour, crack, PWP.
Length: About 2000 words
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] sinemoras09
Warnings: Crack, explicit sex.
Author Websites: Deviant Art, Tumblr
Why this must be read: For those not in know, Minato and Kushina are Naruto's parents. This 'Five Times' fic takes a sideways look at their sex life and in the process beautifully illustrates precisely where Naruto gets some of his more baffling and sometimes irritating personality traits. It also shows the depth of the love his parents had for each other, and by implication therefore, for him. For crack, this is a lovely little work. Remember to give the author feedback if you enjoyed it.

Oh awesome. I always mean to go looking for fics of this pairing and never do. Thanks for the rec!

I certainly agree with you that porn, with or without plot, should have personality, preferably the personality of the characters from the source material. Unfortunately this is often not the case. So many stories make me think the author could have slapped any two names on the characters. It's not easy to take source characters that are decidedly not in a romantic relationship and turn that into a romance without fundamentally changing their personalities. While starting a romance as friends is desirable, even in real life it is tricky to navigate the transition. Bravo to writers who can pull that off.
