It's Just That series by LizaPod (NC-17)
Fandom: SUITS
Pairing: Harvey/Mike
Length: 9,210 words
Author on LJ: no username specified
Author Website: AO3 profile
Why this must be read:
In this series, Harvey and Mike are all kinds of repressed and in denial as they circle each other, and Harvey learns the hard way that Mike can cut through his bullshit like no one else. They're dysfunctional, and totally rough around the edges; they know each other so very well, but they don't know themselves half as well. The power dynamics in this are absolutely fascinating.
My favourite part of this is Five Years ("Five times they don't fuck, just fuck with each other. No times they don't."). It has just the right amount of pining, angst, obviousness and general douchebaggery to make it feel deliciously real. (You have to read the previous two installments to understand Five Years.)
[Warning: there's adultery in this—not Harvey/Mike—and Mike/other people. This series is listed as incomplete, but the three parts work perfectly as-is.]

Mike Ross is young.
He’s not naïve. He’s not virginal. He’s not pure.
He’s a grown man and a former pothead fraud of a lawyer who hasn’t been pure, virginal, and naïve since he was 14.
He knows what he wants, and he knows how to get it.
What he wants is for Harvey Specter to stop treating him like some kid who couldn’t find his own dick with both hands and a map.
What he wants is for Harvey to stop acting like all the innuendoes and flirting are going right over his naïve, young, skinny-tied head.
How to get that to happen is to make Harvey follow through on some of that goddamn innuendo, and that is going to involve three things Mike knows Harvey likes: expensive liquor that’s outside of Mike’s budget, showing Mike how much more successful and more awesome Harvey is than him, and blowjobs.
It’s mostly the last one, but the first two are prerequisites for the last.
It's Just That
