Journal Entries by Tara1 on the Official Showtime Message Board (PG-13)
Fandom: QUEER AS FOLK US
Pairings: Gen, but various canon pairings are mentioned
Author on LJ: Unknown
Author Website: None, as far as I know
Why these journal entries must be read:
The backstory: Way back in season 1, Showtime posted journal entries for each character after each episode on the board. They stopped after season 1, and one of the members of the Showtime message board decided to continue. She's been faithfully producing the journals after every episode, and she is fabulous at getting into the heads of the characters and capturing their voices. She explains the stupid errors that the fans hiss at, and she adds some charming details that don't take the characters too far from canon. Tara might have preferences as to pairings, but she's so even-handed that shippers of all stripes enjoy reading her journal entries. The journal entries appear on the Monday or Tuesday after each new episode, in the current episode's thread on the Showtime QAF board. The only problem is that Showtime erases the threads eventually, so you'll have to join the board to read seasons 3 and 4 soon, before they disappear.
For those of you who don't want to join the board to read the current entries, I kept copies of S3 entries (and S4 entries up through 412, the current episode) that I can forward as e-mails to anyone who asks for them in the comments to this post. I think I also have the first season offical journals in a document on my hard drive, too, if you are interested. I have hard copies of the season 2 journal entries stashed away somewhere that I keep meaning to re-key, but for now those are unavailable.
MICHAEL:
Ben was being kind. It was totally immature of me to run off with Hunter that way. I could have landed Ben and me both in jail for kidnapping or custodial interference or something. I did it out of love, like he said, but people do some pretty stupid things for love. (I was thinking about this while trying to watch the final season of Oz, but Hunter kept switching channels.)
My original plan was to hide out at David's cabin, but wouldn't you know it - David had the calendar marked and he was coming down for a vacation that same day! Got out in the nick of time - we passed David's jag in the dark on the way down. (Fortunately, he wouldn't recognize Brian's new car.) Hope he doesn't notice the missing bottle of wine.
Ben gave me a hell of a welcome home. I'm still sore this morning. I may be good at disappearing acts, but he wanted to try positions that needed a real Houdini.
DEBBIE:
Been in a lousy mood ever since the breakup with Carl. I was right about his boss - Stockwell's been indicted, and he's about to wind up out of office, flat on his butt. So why can't Carl just accept that he was wrong and go from there? I hope the whole truth comes out about Jason Kemp - I want to know why that poor boy died.
I gave Michael a piece of my mind about that fool stunt he pulled with Hunter. I was worried sick. All right, I exaggerated when I said we speak at least three times a day, but I still like to know that we could. (When he was in Portland with David, I was shooting for five times a day.)
Found the strainer under Vic's mattress, along with tongs, a couple of spatulas, and an apron. Vic and Rodney both got really embarrassed and mumbled something about a fantasy they'd been trying. I don't want to know. (But I have my ear to the wall - apparently they've taken The Naked Chef to a whole new level.)
The Showtime QAF message board--Sorry, accessible only in the U.S.

I can send you the journals if you like; just tell me if you want season 3 or 4 or both. :)
