Hi! I'm unbidden_truth and I'll be driving the Merlin van for this month.  I mostly read Merlin/Arthur (both canon and modern AUs) but also love gen stories so hopefully I'll get a chance to rec both.

Why this must be read:

This fic does a fantastic job of characterizing Merlin both in the immediate aftermath of Arthur's death and returning to Camelot and through the centuries waiting for Arthur's return. I particularly loved the sparse, poetic style and how the writer managed to convey so much with so few words.  Merlin's grief, even his loneliness over the centuries feels palpable but so do his steadfast devotion and resiliency and hope that Arthur will return one day. The poignant interactions between Gwen and Merlin in the beginning and the lovely details referring to the changing of time only adds an extra depth to this fic.  And the ending is all together sweet.
