Why this must be read: One of my favorite things about fan fiction is the ability for it to 'fix' stuff that bugged me in the show. For example, at the end of "The Storm"/"The Eye" that bandage Rodney gave himself on the outside of his jacket bothered the heck out of me. I mean, Rodney loudly complains about a splinter and we're supposed to believe he somehow bandages his own knife wound after being tortured by Kolya? Tarlan takes what is a seriously OOC moment and turns it into something dark and frightening as Rodney suddenly collapses in the Gate Room immediately following the events of the onscreen episode. It's a race against time to save Rodney's life; a race where John has to navigate through political subterfuge, deal with the aftermath of the Genii invasion as well as his own growing feelings towards a certain snarky scientist. "Alchemy" will keep you on the edge of your seat and will reward you with a most satisfying conclusion.
