Why this must be read (viewed) I've fallen a day or so behind in our S&H crack_van travels! I meant to post this as a Friday Night Drive In, but here it is, already Sunday! No matter, let's watch a fabulous video anyway. "Behind Blue Eyes" intertwines the music of the classic song by The Who and the nail-biting S&H episode, "Pariah." With her usual finesse and storytelling eye, T.M. focuses on how the events impact Starsky-- his turmoil and the heavy emotional toll. Hutch is there, by his side, reaching him as only Hutch can, but sometimes even the touch of that very special friend isn't enough to break through the pain. There is an intensely private feel to the scenes here, with Starsky turning inward even as he navigates the external world. It is as though the map in his hand is false, and fraught with wrong turns. "Pariah" is a powerful episode by any standards. T.M.'s video reminds us why--and does so with raw power and with stark, completely honest, beauty.
But my dreams
They aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
While you are at it, take a moment and enjoy her other thoughtful and excellent videos! T.M. is a masterful storyteller, unique and creative and accurate to a "T" when observing and chronicling the lives of these guys. Enjoy the show!
