Why this must be read: In sheafrotherdon's "Traturian Thaw" John Sheppard has a bad feeling he can't shake about the Traturians; they've been exemplary trading partners but there's just something about them that John can't explain. When Rodney goes missing, John's fears prove correct. I adore "Traturian Thaw", as I do all of sheafrotherdon's work. It's got strong characterizations, especially John Sheppard, and an intriguing story that hooks you right from the start. I couldn't help but recommend speris' excellent remix of the story told from Rodney's POV. (I actually read that one first.) It's another gorgeous brave!Rodney story where we're reminded just how much our resident genius has grown since arriving in Pegasus and compliments the original story beautifully. Treat yourself and read them both.

These two fics complement each other so well, and together they create an excellent story. One of my favorites! I always love the moment when John is prove right, despite the danger to Rodney, because everyone kept scolding him for his wariness.

He's smart enough to know when to follow his gut and when to follow someone else's depending on the situation. I think that's a marvelous trait.

It truly is!
