Why this must be read:

A long-lived franchise such as Star Wars accumulates lots of baggage in fandom: canon, manon and fanon. What fun to throw it all away and focus simply on the basics of storytelling, right from the source! In the '09 Party Like It's 1999! ficathon, Obi/Qui lovers of all sorts happily flow-walked backwards, contributing fic after fic. This one uses an untried Obi-Wan as he grows into his own sexual maturity, with the aid of an ever-attentive Master, from the prompt: A theme/plot point: Master/Padawan sexual intimacy is - objectively - completely unacceptable, and possibly (probably?) even seriously criminal. What happens? The author writes Anakin/Obi-Wan, as well.

May I ask what "manon" means? I've never seen that term before.

Manon would be strictly movie-based fics, as opposed to Lucas' assertion that his canon is the movies, plus the novelizations, and now the animated program, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. For instance, the movie novelization for ANH had Owen being Obi-Wan's brother, something not brought up in the film. I've not heard the term much, but it did stick with me.

with 'manon' *not the Massenet opera* in it, but yeah, the 'manon' I'm thinking of was in a Star Wars meta about in 2006, regarding how some fics use manon only - not many, but some. Personally, I find the EU and music scores and lots of other influences flavor fics more to my taste, but I can see the purity of sticking only to movies' presentations of characters and so forth.
