This is a legal AU with a rare pairing in this fandom - due to Ladd and Kesler being on rival teams, probably. This story seems to be inspired by Suits, although none of the characters from that show appear. Many other hockey players do, from almost any NHL team you could name. Like Suits however, it gets all the out of the courtroom stuff correct, and much of the plot covers all the hard work lawyers do before ever appearing in court.

The plot is twofold. The first is the juicy evolution of Kesler and Ladd's relationship from fist-throwing, hating each other's guts to gradual appreciation, wary friendship, and finally a deeper connection. And the sex is pretty blazing hot along the way.

The secondary plot line is an intriguing legal mystery with plenty of details that add veracity to the story, along with a hint of danger as Andrew and Ryan dig closer to the truth.

A torrid romance, a puzzling mystery, and some hockey games thrown in makes this story well worth the time!
