Why this must be read: What makes this fic remarkable is how clearly the reader can see Kakashi's feelings as he reacts to Gai's first girlfriend, even though the fic is written entirely in Gai's POV. Gai's determination to find the eternal beauty of love and a family, even with the constant rejection he earns, is so perfectly Gai. I also found it delightful how the knowledge that his friend Kakashi wants him as more than a friend changes Gai's perceptions of same. (This fic is unfortunately flocked on LJ.
