Pepper is Pepper (awesome Pepper) and Tony loves her. Loki is chaotic, and (ultimately) unredeemed, and covets Tony. Tony is someone who has space in his heart for more than 1 person. They all come to an arrangement that seems vicious at times, rife with the possibility of jealousy, but somehow manages to work for the 3 of them once they all find their place in each other’s lives. And then Loki’s vengeful insanity returns, and it should ruin them all and the balance they've achieved. They all deal with it in their own ways.
