Why this must be read: This is a really old fic, from 1998.  It's set in a vaguely dystopian future, but it's not depressing.  It's about Ray and Fraser as old men, still snarking at each other and being best friends, even in a future where things maybe aren't always so great.  I like it for the back and forth banter, the clever design of the world it's set in, and the fact that it's not an established romantic relationship story.  It's a story about finally saying all of the things left unsaid over years and years of partnership--it's a little bittersweet, but mostly it's adorable.

No problem! I had just wondered what had happened that all of a sudden my hit count had doubled (and then some), and it's nice to have the mystery solved. If I'd never found out, I still would have appreciated the additional hits, kudos and comment, but this way I can thank you for the traffic. :D
