Why this must be read: It is a sharp, clear insight into the Aeryn of Season One. This story makes you feel exactly how difficult it was for Aeryn to lose the life she had as a Peacekeeper, and why she regretted the loss so keenly. There is also the slightest glimmer of the growth Aeryn's character would show later in the season. This is the best pre-Premiere Aeryn I've read, and it made me hurt for her situation in ways I'd never thought of before.

This was a great rec, btw. I love early, conflicted Aeryn. I'm still reading the epic AU from your first rec and enjoying it a lot, too. There's just so much good fic to read these days!
