This is a fascinating look at the idea that for every Sentinel there is a Guide. If that holds true, then there must be one out there for Alex Barnes. Twisted and dark though he may be, he is still devoted to his Sentinel and feels that soul deep connection that fanon likes to say is there. The author has created an intensely intriguing character voice for this original character that makes you shiver at some of the implications and yet also to cock your head in interest and fascination. A great read to start our road trip off with!

\0/ \0/ Yay, you're reccing in TS again. This is a very interesting interpretation of canon. I always wondered why Alex didn't just shoot Blair instead of drowning him, other than the fact that he tends to get shot at a lot. The sequels are tantalizing as well, and really take a hard left-turn away from canon. I hope she eventually continues with the series.

LOL The call of the Sentinel and his Guide is too strong to resist for long. :D And it really does pose an interesting idea. I love how she made her OMC kinda twisted and stalker-ish but so in tune with his Sentinel. It also really does pose an interesting twist to the canon and what could have happened. 'Cause I always did wonder, too, about why the drowning and not a bullet.
