Dinner and Convserations (of This Old House) by Duckgomery (G)
Subject: Dinner and Conversations (of This Old House) by Duckgomery (G)
Fandom: Rise of the Guardians
Pairing: mostly none, a bit of Jack/Jamie
Author Website: AO3
Why this must be read:
A human AU in which the main RotG characters are roommates in one large house. Jack is a college student, Tooth a teacher, Bunny runs a flowershop, Sandy is a painter, North is a carpenter, and Pitch is a writer. The particular story linked is one of many in the This Old House series (15 parts), and while each story can stand alone, they do better together. Each story is a cute little drabble, usually under 1,000 words each, telling cute little roommate stories such as Movie Nights, the origins of carb-free Wednesdays, pranking Bunny by rearranging his garden, or the time when Pitch got a cat named Mary Elizabeth Katherine. After a while the drabbles blossom into a more serious picture of some issues that Jack's having and how Pitch is the only one Jack trusts enough to help him get through them. (There's also a "follow-up" series in-progress with more drabbles too, though I'm not entirely sure why Duckgomery separated them out b/c they're set within the same period of time.)
