The Blizzard of '68 by Lindzzz (G) [of The Evil Boyfriends Series (G-Explicit)]

Subject: The Blizzard of '68 by Lindzzz (G) [of The Evil Boyfriends Series (G-Explicit)]
Fandom: Rise of the Guardians
Pairing: Jack/Pitch
Author Website: AO3

Why this must be read:
Author Summary:
In which Pitch throws a sulking tantrum and Jack is having none of it.

I love the idea I usually see where Pitch and Jack join up early on and it's dark and angsty and Pitch is a controlling manipulative bastard. But I wanted to play with the idea that the two of them are both good and bad for each other. And they form this weird, unhealthy and hilariously domestic codependent relationship built on a good foundation of snark and mutual understanding.

And lots of making out like a couple of ridiculous teenagers.

This is the cutest fluffiest take on Blackice that I've ever seen. Jack and Pitch have been together for at least a hundred years. Pitch enjoys sulking and throwing hissy fits; Jack enjoys pulling Pitch out of his sulks and stroking his own ego. Add in a new take on the Blizzard of '68 (co-opted from its usual cliche place in Jackrabbit fics), and you get a hilarious and adorable pair of co-dependent mischief-makers who never quite get up to the level of evildoers.

Each story in the series can stand alone and are around 1,000+ words each, but as in any good drabbles series, together they build a better picture, in this case the picture being of the Blackice relationship. Did I mention that Pitch likes to snuggle but won't admit it, and usually drags Jack under the bed in the middle of the night? Read forward to the second installment for that. *squee!*

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your recs this month. Your driving the crack van for Rise of the Guardians has coincided very nicely with my obsession recent interest in reading it. Lindzzz's stories, in particular, are so well-written, and I have just loved the hell out of that series all this week. Thanks for the recs (I'm now a huge Jack/Pitch fan and it's all your fault ;), and keep 'em coming.
