help_haiti auction. But it scratches a curiosity itch I've had ever since seeing the 2009 Guy Ritchie movie (and getting back into the ACD canon): is Sherlock Holmes a Sentinel?
Certainly a case can be made for such in almost any incarnation, including canon. And Mab does a great job exploring this in this vignette of what might have happened had Blair Sandburg and Sherlock Holmes crossed paths during the Great Hiatus.
The Blair and Jim in the story come from another fantastic AU story by Mab, Strewn Towards A Heaven, which tells the story of Jim Ellison the Pinkerton agent and how he meets up with Blair Sandburg during the Johnstown, PA flood. You don't need to have read "Strewn" to enjoy "Notes", but it's so good that you should read it anyway.
