Why this must be read:

I really enjoy stories that have an outsider's view of Jim and Blair and their relationship, whether it's slash or gen. Maaaaa's unnamed original male criminal makes the mistake of thinking Jim's pickup an easy target, and pays for it. In the process, he gives us a great look at Jim and Blair, despite the fact that Jim's not even in the story! In fact, this is a sort of a meta-outsider's view, because it's the criminal's view of Jim based on what Blair is telling him about Jim. Plus, it's a perfect example of how Blair's mouth is his first and best line of defense when it comes to being a trouble magnet.

I don't think I've read this before - what a great little fic! You can picture everything happening just so, and, as you say, it shows that Blair's motormouth is his not-so-secret weapon!
