Why this must be read:

There is never enough femslash in fanfic; there is definitely not enough femslash in this fandom. This fic might be a little—how do I say this—trope-y for some tastes, but it works for me. It begins with your working undercover trope, complete with Special Agent Dana Scully decked out in an outfit she wouldn't ordinarily wear while on duty, then throws in some voyeurism, a brief cross-dressing fantasy, and adds some Mulderbation for good measure, and honestly, would Unrepentant Noromo Wendelah read this if it wasn't by Torch? Probably not, but this fic is hot. Really hot.

Yeah, I'll read anything if it's good but for the show I liked them as platonic partners. Everything CC/1013 did with the ship was a disaster. YMMV. I can't imagine them with anyone else so I would have happy for them to end up together at the very end of the series, just not like that.

I liked the UST on the show a lot but knew it would be a disaster if the writers decided to, uh, requite it. Like you, I can't imagine either of them with anyone else (at least with the other still living). But I do enjoy MSR fics... as long as it's clear how screwed up they are, individually and together. Fluffy, happy shipping just doesn't ring true for those characters, IMO.
