Autumn and Spring by Angus McSpon (R)

Fandom: RANMA 1/2
Pairing: Akane Tendo/Ranma Saotome, Ukyo Kuonji/Ranma Saotome, Shampoo/Ranma Saotome
Warning: Character death(s)
Author on LJ: unknown
Author Website: Angus McSpon's Fan Fiction
Why this must be read:

The author's own teaser-summary: An eighty-five year old Ranma is mourning the death of his wife, when a figure from his past reappears and draws him into a final confrontation with an enemy he thought he'd never have to face again.

The reveal about Ranma's enemy gives me chills ever single time I read it. I won't spoil it for you.

However, I will add the following warning, in addition to the warning above: if you are easily disturbed by human suffering, this is not the fic for you. If you can bear to read about the suffering, I can promise an amazing read, an incredible premise, and a worthy finale. It is at times a horrific tale, and yet at the same time it is about the triumph of hope, played against the backdrop of a unique and fascinating premise: that one of the familiar characters in the series was not at all as she appeared to be, and was instead something much more sinister.

If you're unsatisfied at the end of Autumn and Spring, help yourself to the sequel, Second Spring. Sometimes I find that simply the first story is enough, at other times, I crave both it and its sequel, even though at times they give me shuddering goosebumps or nightmares.
