Britney waits until three o'clock to start on her Grand Match-Making Plan. Since Justin asked her to bring Lance to the show, Britney's been thinking about the two of them and she's decided they'd make a perfect pair. Lance could use some fun and some passion and Justin needs a guy who'll treat him right.

And okay, so it didn't work out the last time she set Justin up. Britney sighs and finishes sealing envelopes. In fact, it was a disaster and she still feels guilty eight months later. But, Lance is different, she's only known him for a month, but he's a good guy, just a little conservative. Justin can fix that and then everyone will feel better. Britney's sure of it, so she emails Lance.

Cancel all your plans for Friday night. Your presence has been requested. Come chat for further details. - Brit

Britney watches the clock. It takes Lance twelve minutes to show up at her desk.

"Where? And by whom?"

Britney smiles, "A bar, my friend Justin." When Lance just stares blankly, Britney adds, "the bike messenger."

Lance turns pink. "Oh. He um, invited me to a bar?"

"Well, he invited me and suggested I bring you along. And I always do what Justin says. It's like magic." That's sort of true, actually. Since she met Justin, Britney's done a lot of things she never thought she would, she cares about things and goes to protest marches. She feels like a better person for it, also, she thinks it helps her acting. Britney tilts her head and watches Lance think.

"So. Well, what if I have plans? I can't just cancel them to go to a bar with you and the magic bike messenger."

"Okay. Not to be rude, but you don't have plans, right?" Lance doesn't answer. "Research perhaps?"

Lance rolls his eyes. "I was thinking about seeing that new Matt Damon movie."

"Lance," Britney whines.

"Fine, Brit, I'll think about it, okay?"

Britney smiles. "I'll tell Justin you're coming."

Lance shakes his head and goes back to his office.

I love that story, I was very late reading it. It's fantastic.

I like the snippets, but I do kind of wish you'd talk about why you in particular liked the stories you're recommending. Was it the characterization? The hot sex scenes? The lack of sex scenes? The flow of the writing, or the humor? Clips from the stories are nice and all, but they're kind of like reading the back of a paperback novel at the bookstore instead of listening to a friend gush over the book she just read.
