Title: Blue Eyes by dargelos
Pairing: Tobias Beecher/Billy Tallent

Why this must be read:
I'm not much of a fan of crossovers in general, but this story just makes so much sense. At first glance, it may seem that Beecher and Billy have little in common - but this fic isn't just about Beecher and Billy. There are two other characters starring in this story, spectral though they may be, and their shadows loom large.
If this were any other pair of fandoms, I might call this a hurt/comfort fic. But both Oz and Hard Core Logo take the concepts of "hurt" and "comfort" to a entirely different plane, and it's that common ground that makes this story so believable. Logical, even.
Put all of that into this author's capable hands (
dargie is, simply put, one of the finest writers in this or any fandom), and you've got a story you won't easily be able to put out of your mind. Which is just as it should be.
An excerpt:
"I was in prison once."
"Yeah?" Tobias didn’t even pretend to care.
"Not one with bars." He tapped his forehead. "It was in here. And in here," he said, touching his chest. He took a few quick drags off his cigarette and rubbed his thumb over his forehead. Then he looked over his shoulder at Tobias. "I think that’s where you did your hard time, too, didn’t you?"
