Fandom: Farscape
Pairing: John/Aeryn - though it may be closer to a John/Aeryn/John triangle (dude, it's canon, okay?)

Why this must be read: Simply put, it's one of the most daring stories in the Farscape fandom.

The Farscape PTB did a daring thing by creating an exact double of John Crichton - so much so that we are forced to believe that both are, in fact, "equal and original," as we were told. But that was a hard concept for John to wrap his mind around - that neither of them was the copy. A lot of angst went into pondering over that paradox on the show.

What the Farscape PTB didn't do is bring both John Crichtons back together again after they went their separate ways in the middle of the third season. What would have happened? How would the John who got stuck on Moya react to the fact that Aeryn and the other John had "gotten together," for lack of a better term? Could it possibly be messier than what happened on the show?

The answers? A lot of crap, not well, and hell yes.

Cofax forces both Johns to make some very difficult decisions. Some of the things they have to do to survive are truly horrifying. And before we even knew of Grayza, Cofax created a kick-ass female Peacekeeper commander of her own. Sometimes I wish we could have gotten Supay instead of Grayza. She's no less evil in her own way, and at least Supay never tried to save the world with her breasts.
