Why this must be read:
This was a last-minute entry to the B7Ficathon, and it just goes to show that stories written quickly can have a wonderful spontaneity and freshness that compels the reader. Nickey's mandate was a non-slash Avon-Blake or Avon-Vila with a strong Jenna or Cally, set in S1 or S2.
This is basically a Missing Scene set after Gambit. It stands to reason that at least somebody in the crew would have been suspicious about Avon and Vila's self-proclaimed real quiet time. Vila is a much-loved character, and Nickey captures his anxious cuddliness as he worries about what inevitable something will ruin his enjoyable day out. Something does of course, but there's a double twist leading up to a satisfying resolution.
