Fragile by

Previously on Popslash: Justin turned 21. And then became a homicidal cult-figure -- with minions and everything -- and ran from the law. Chris didn't want to pay for his food and felt JC up in a car instead. Lance and Justin tangled with the criminal element and ran to the law. Joey's sanity crumbled in the face of the Lancebot's straightness, while Chris responded to Justin's siren call in the desert. And then they solved crime for a while. JC drank copious quantities of Jagermeister and tried valiently to fight off those lustful urges. Finally, he just gave in -- as did everyone else, hence the group orgy. Chris appreciated the finely honed bitchiness of his bandmates. Britney appreciated her power over the men in her life. Justin spoke, against doctor's orders. And Wade? Well, Wade ruined everything, like usual...but at least Chris got a date with Eminem out of it.

Fandom: Popslash
Pairing: Chris/Lance (Trickyfish, FuLa)

Why this must be read:
I started out the month by recc'ing a hilarious story of revelational birthday love. It seemed fitting, therefore, to end the month the same way -- by recc'ing a hilarious story of revelational birthday love. Fragile tells the tale of Chris's disasterous 30th birthday, in which he awakens to find out that not only has Lance decided to refuse his offer of love, flowers, candy, and boyfriend-ship...but that Lance is doing so because he's pretty damn sure that Chris? Is bad in bed. Not, you know, horrible. Better than Fred Durst, at least. But still pretty pathetic.
julad writes in fic in a number of fandoms and we're lucky that popslash is one of them. This story is full of great lines, excellent cameo appearances, and just unbelievably wry, funny appearances by all of the guys. It even manages to pack in a little sweetness towards the end, too!
Additional Information:
1. Fred Durst is a professional tool. In his spare time, he also fronts rap metal group Limp Bizkit.
2. Busta and Korea are/were Chris's very adorable pet dogs and confidantes.
3. Pictures! Group and Trickyfish:

Next Month on Popslash: I think we get to find out who the real Slim Shady is.
**Guys, I've had an incredibly fun time recc'ing here -- much more than I had expected. Thanks so much to all the authors, to everyone who left comments or sent emails, to anyone who was reading along, and to everyone else for just putting up with my long-ass recs showing up three times a week on their friendslist! Oh, and Happy Halloween!**

In all seriousness, thank you! I did worry about the fact that I was recc'ing so many well-known stories, so it's a relief to know that you still found the recs to be fun -- even if I was mainly telling you things you already knew. And the images were just waaaay too much fun to leave out, weren't they? There was no way I was going to turn down the chance to go through thousands of pics of the boys every few days.
As for my own rec page...oooh! That'd be so nice, even if just so I could keep track of the stories that I love. There are so many and the links to them are all buried in the unorganized chaos that is my bookmark section right now. You've definitely given me a thought to ponder, there...

Man. I'm at a loss for words regarding the Lance pictures of late. First John Bobbit Halloween costume and now leather and a kilt? With makeup and a GnR tshirt, too! Wooo.
Thanks for the confirmation!

Wow. So no pressure then, eh? *g*
First, let me say thank you! It's completely awesome to hear that...uh...established popslashers (so to speak) enjoyed these recs, as well as people unfamiliar with the fandom. I had more fun putting together these recs than I ever expected I would -- hell, I had so much fun just getting the quotes and pictures together that I probably would have kept putting them in even if people had been yelling for me to stop. Still, it's very cool to know that someone else liked them. And that they helped remind you of some of the stories...yay!
As for a rec page of my own...hmm. Well, I won't lie and say I'm not sitting here seriously considering it! Maybe someday soon... ;)

Hee! Popslash takes people like that from time to time. And it always seems to be the least suspecting ones who get addicted the most easily...
Thank you so much for the compliment again! I'm really, really happy that you found the recs accessible and fun -- it makes me all giddy to think that these are part of the reason for your newfound devotion to popsters (uh, or maybe just devotion to the authors who slash them, of course). Either way, glad you've joined Club Sparkly. *g*

Ha! Yeah, I'm gonna have to hire someone to start signing all my 8x10 glossies soon. I just don't have the time to do autographs these days... *pauses to preen for paparrazzi*
Thanks for everything and getting everything set up so well here, Dana! Oh, and I'd love to do recs again, except that I'd need to get into a new fandom to do that...which is probably what'll happen if I hang around this community any more. Heh.

I'd love to do popslash again, though. Especially since I wouldn't have to do it again for a couple of months. Ooh, that's really, really tempting. Really.
