Why this must be read:
Brit, one of the fandom's most heartfelt gen/smarm writers, has so many marvelous stories on her page, it's hard to know just what to recommend. Should I send you to the angsty "Heart Sight" and its sequel, "Heart Song", or the moving missing scene to "Sweet Revenge", "Enough", or the ultimate tearjerker "The Sacrifice", or.....?*
But, in honor of today's rains -- the first ones to dampen Los Angeles' streets in 181 days -- I'm recommending her lovely prequel story, "When the Rains Come." Who knew that directing traffic could be so difficult for a couple of BCPD trainees? A great first-person Hutch voice for this prescient early chapter in the life story of our two favorite cops.
