Why this must be read:
And here's one for the road, a very short story that wraps up a lot of the things I like the Charles/Erik pairing in one small package and smashes you in the teeth with it. Quirky, real, funny if you share my taste for very (very!) black humor, and with an ending that would be hopeful if we didn't know what's to come, and is instead so painful it earns the "fork through the heart" icon and then some.
