CSI: Crime Scene Investigation/?

Title: CSI Goes Deep, aka The Inappropriate CSI Crossover by Arduinna
Pairing: none - gen
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] aka_arduinna
Author Website: Arduinna's Omnium-Gatherum
Why this must be read:

I haven't given away the other fandom involved, because I think that actually gives away most of the joy of this particular crossover - and this crossover is a joy - and in fact the author keeps it quiet until the end of the story for that very reason. However, if anyone really wants to know I've put it under an LJ-cut at the end of this post.

I said I was going to lighten up towards Christmas, and cut back on the darkness and the angst, so I bring you this piece by Arduinna. Why should you read it? Because it's very clever and very funny, in character for the CSIs and intensely satisfying. The best part, and what mades it utterly hilarious, is that the CSI crew's voices are utterly spot on, and the whole premise is treated exactly as though it were an episode. And once you figure out exactly what they're investigating... Well, I would urge you to go and read and see if you can keep a straight face. I couldn't.

Sara's eyes were huge, and Nick, standing at her shoulder, was frankly gaping. Grissom frowned at them before turning to look at whatever had so flustered them. "Caverna belua," he announced. His frown deepened as they gaped at him instead, and he glanced over at Catherine and Warrick, who looked equally confused. Grissom sighed.

"Cave troll. "

I've put the crossover fandom in white, so if you highlight it to read: Lord of the Rings, specifically The Fellowship of the Ring
