Why this must be read: Because so often in TS fic, we loose sight of the Blair who fought off Kincaid's siege. The one who used a crane's hook to knock out a bad guy. This Blair is resourceful, not fearless but willing to keep fighting despite the fear. He uses anything and everything that comes to hand. This time Jim has to stay in the truck (figuratively speaking) and his reaction to hearing Blair in danger are priceless. And the supporting characters are perfect in their variety of reactions to the Blair/Jim dynamic.

"I'm always worried that they're faking how badly they're hurt and they're gonna get me the minute I bend down to cuff 'em."
Claire stared with wide eyes down at the man on the floor. "Do they do that a lot?"
"Well, that's what Jim and I do, so I kind of figured it was standard procedure in these sorts of situations."

"Look, maybe Jim can hear something, but there's no way he can know it's Blair; it could be anyone." He frowned as Jim suddenly tensed and blinked blankly at the wall. "Now what?"
Jim was too downright astonished, not to mention baffled, at what he had overheard to worry that the Sentinel thing was no longer a secret. He turned puzzled eyes on Simon. "He's smearing strawberry jelly on Rhonda and the Donut girl and he's telling them to take off their shirts and rip holes in their panty hose."
There was a long thoughtful silence before Henri nodded reluctantly. "Okay, you got me, that does sound like Hairboy."

Sorry there's no smut in this one. I will make up for it next time.

Hopefully my RL stuff has calmed down enough for me to rec more often these last two weeks. At least now I'm done with international business trips for the month :)
