The Olympic Spirit by freedomfry (PG)
Hi! I'm tommygirl and I'll be driving the Sports Night fandom for the month. I love several different pairings within this fandom as long as it brings the banter, but I'm definitely a fan of the Dan/Casey element. So hang on for January!

Why this must be read:
This story is spot on with the Sorkin-esque banter as Dan and Casey watch the 2004 Gymnastics All-Round. Much like the show, there isn't so much plot movement at times, but you get a really wonderful look at the dynamic between the characters through the dialogue. It's fun and light, the sort of thing we all need sometimes.
Dan put the remote down, placed his hands on his knees and looked over at his friend. “But why on earth would you want to double the bet?” he asked.
“Because I have faith in the Olympic spirit,” Casey said.
“The Olympic spirit?” Dan repeated.
“Yes,” Casey said.
“The spirit that has brought about a record number of positive doping test results?” Dan’s voice began to rise. “The spirit that has made us lead off the show the last few nights with sports like synchronized diving? The spirit that has forced me to listen to Jeremy talk for hours about competitive badminton?”
