Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Smallville (Rating: NC-17)
Title: Bar Hopping, by Amy
Pairing: Faith/Lex (Faith/Buffy, Lex/Clark)
Author on LJ:
fox1013
Author Website: The Inner Geekdom
Why this must be read:
Simply put? This fic hits two of my bulletproof kinks right on the noggin.
As far as fiction goes--all fiction, anywhere, in whatever medium you choose--I get a happy tickle from unrequited love. I am, unquestionably, an incurable romantic at heart. As oxymoronic as it sounds, nothing is as romantic as angsty, desperate yearnings that will NEVER EVER EVER EVER be fulfilled. EVER [1].
I think Shakespeare might've been the first to figure that out. But Amy must've taken lessons, because she knows it too. Faith and Lex meet up--does it matter how? Not really--and, being the people that they are, proceed to try and fix what's wrong in their lives by using each other. The dialogue, which carries the story, flows naturally between the two of them; and Faith's cynical POV makes the situation feel incredibly real.
And the sex is hot, which brings me to my second kink. No, I'm not going to tell you what it is. Go and find out for yourselves.
[1] No really. Ever.
